On the week of 21st & 22nd March, the band competed in the Scottish Championships at the Caird Hall in Dundee, where we finished in 7th place with a total of 171 points.

This years contest piece, "The Once and Future King" by Andrew Baker, was a challenging arrangement but is one we gave a solid performance of, with some positive remarks from the adjudicators on the day, Peter Bassano and Allan Ramsay.

Full results from our section are:

1. Coalburn Silver, (G. Bowman), 180
2. Dunfermline Town, (D. Neil), 177
3. Renfrew Burgh, (D. Hutchinson), 176
4. St Davids, (J. Dickson), 175
5. Buckhaven and Methil Miners (G. Evans MBE), 174

Results from all other sections can be found on the 4BarsRest website: http://www.4barsrest.com/news/detail.asp?year=2009&criteria=Results&id=9613

This result means that we remain firmly cemented in the 3rd Section and gives us a solid foundation to build on last year's impressive 2nd place.

Thanks to everyone who put in effort and commitment in the run-up to the contest, and going forward.
